Actor Alden Richards welcomed another blessing this Monday, with the opening of his own McDonald’s branch in Santa Rosa City, Laguna
Friends in the showbiz industry and well-known personalities including Barbie Forteza, Kristoffer Martin and Bea Binene attended the “Neighbor’s Day” held by the said fast-food chain in Barangay Kanluran.
This is the second branch of the said fast-food chain that Richards is handling, after his previous branch in Biñan City.
The said branch is special because apart from Richards looking back on the city where he was born, the said place also has a unique history.
This is because it is one of the famous stone houses or ancestral houses in Santa Rosa City that has preserved its original design even though it has been modernized.
The said new branch is located in the former Zavalla-Rivera Ancestral House, which is one of the famous “stone houses” around Santa Rosa City Proper.
It can be recalled that another McDonalds branch in downtown San Pedro City that opened in 2021 was admired by netizens for its preservation of its old structure.
Local historians and heritage foundations initially expressed skepticism after it was allegedly demolished in 2024 to make way for Richards’ new McDonalds branch.
