Tennis star Alex Eala climbed to no. 31 from no. 47 in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings after an impressive campaign during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships last week.
During the Dubai campaign, Eala defeated World No. 10 Jasmine Paolini, one of the greatest wins in her tennis career.
With her latest ranking, there is a huge chance she will get a first-round bye at her next tournament, the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, which will be held from March 4 to 15.
The tournament will serve as the first leg of the prestigious “Sunshine Double,” followed by the Miami Open in late March.
