Newly Appointed Cardinal Bishop Pablo Virgilio David Hailed in the Presence of Pope Francis in Synod Hall, Vatican
Bishop David introduced himself to the Pope in the meeting as they exchanged a few light words.
David thanked the Pope for accepting him in a new role, and when told so, the Pope advised him to handle his new consequences with a lighter heart, especially when doing service to the Catholic Church.
Newly elevated Cardinals – including Bishop David of Kalookan and CBCP president from the Philippines – take their places, he and his 20 colleagues from every country, together joined the ranks of the newly appointed Cardinals.
David is now the 10th Cardinal in the history of the country at the age of 65.
