CCSS Ladies Generation: The All-Female Korean Group Proving Passion Has No Age Limit

We had the chance to meet four of the group’s members—Mi Soon Kim, Jong Sook Yu, Shin Ji Gyun, and Hyoung Kyoung Park—during a recent media conference in Manila, held in anticipation of their Philippine tour. The moment they walked in, their energy filled the room: poised yet playful, elegant yet effortlessly approachable.

As Shin Ji Gyun explained, their visit to the Philippines wasn’t just about promotion—it was personal.

“We chose the Philippines not only because it’s a beautiful country,” she said with a smile, “but because we know Filipinos love music as much as we do. That kind of shared love makes us feel connected right away.”

That connection was instantly felt. The ladies radiated warmth and curiosity about Filipino culture, sharing that they’ve already fallen in love with the country’s famous cuisine.

“We tried sinigang and adobo,” said Jong Sook Yu, laughing. “The chicken here tastes a bit different—but I love it! The flavor feels very comforting.”

Beauty, Grace, and Genuine Talent

One can’t help but notice how youthful and vibrant the four women look. Their confidence carries an effortless grace that comes from both experience and passion. All of them revealed that before joining CCSS Ladies Generation, they had tried modeling and even competed in pageants. But deep down, their hearts were always set on music.

“We’ve always loved singing,” shared Hyoung Kyoung Park. “But as we grew older, we got busy with work, family, and other responsibilities. This group gave us a chance to return to that dream we once had—and to finally live it.”

Their name, CCSS Ladies Generation, symbolizes not just their identity as women, but also their determination to show that age and artistry can coexist beautifully. In an industry often obsessed with youth, they’re rewriting the narrative: that talent, passion, and stage presence don’t have an expiration date.

Voices that Captivate

During the mediacon, the ladies gave a taste of their vocal prowess with a live acoustic performance of the OPM classic Sayang na Sayang by Aegis. The choice was bold—Aegis songs are known for their powerhouse vocals and emotional depth—but the group pulled it off with grace.

Their rendition offered something refreshing: a softer, harmonically rich interpretation that gave the song a different kind of soul. The blending of their voices was smooth, delicate, and full of emotion—an approach that highlighted their experience and maturity as performers.

“We love how Filipino songs express deep emotions,” said Mi Soon Kim. “It reminds us of Korean ballads—strong feelings, beautiful melodies, and stories of love and longing.”

The group also performed snippets of their original Korean tracks, songs that are already released in their home country. They expressed hopes of making their music available to Filipino listeners soon, either through digital platforms or local collaborations.

“We want our songs to reach people who truly feel music in their hearts,” said Shin Ji Gyun. “That’s why we’re here—to share, to connect, and to learn from this experience.”
