The driver of the SUV, which crashed in the departure area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on May 4, killing two people, has now been released on bail.
According to the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP), Leo Gonzales has been temporarily released after posting bail of P100,000 by the Pasay Regional Trial Court.
‘He has already been released on bail,’ Avseg director Brig. Gen. Christopher Abecia confirmed.
The parked SUV accelerated and struck bollards, allowing it to crash into several individuals.
The incident resulted in the death of two people, including a five-year-old child, and injured four others.
Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine how and under what circumstances the incident occurred.
