The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has approved a price increase for Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal following a request from bread manufacturers.
According to reports, the DTI granted a ₱3.50 increase for a 450-gram pack of Pinoy Tasty and a ₱2.25 hike for a 250-gram pack (10 pieces) of Pinoy Pandesal.
With this adjustment, the new suggested retail prices (SRP) will be₱44.00 for Pinoy Tasty and₱27.25 for Pinoy Pandesal, up from their previous SRPs of ₱40.50 and ₱25.00, respectively.
Trade Secretary Cris Roque stated that the DTI approved the price hike due to the rising costs of raw materials.
Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal are budget-friendly bread options in the Philippines, introduced in 2010 through a corporate social responsibility initiative between the DTI and the Philippine Baking Industry Group (Philbaking).
