All four foreign hikers who went missing in the mountains of Santa Catalina, Barangay Silab, Amlan, Negros Oriental have been successfully rescued by Negros Oriental authorities.
They were located on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at around 1:35 p.m. according to the Negros Oriental police. Upon discovery, they were immediately provided with medical assistance.
Meanwhile, they confirmed that all four are stable; however, further information related to their health status will be released in an official spot report.
The rescue operation was the result of a plan hatched by the Commission on Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Bureau of Fire Protection-Region 7, and local volunteers.
Authorities have not yet revealed how they went missing or what nationality these hikers were. Further investigation is underway.
