The Fujairah Fine Arts Academy is preparing to organize the third edition of the Fujairah International Oud Forum from May 5 to 7, 2025, titled “One Oud, Multiple Cultures.” The forum, which will be held at the Fujairah Cultural and Creative Center, will host a selection of oud players and makers from various countries around the world, including India, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Oman, Iraq, and Spain, in addition to special guests from the Kingdom of Morocco.
The opening ceremony on the first day will include a musical performance by an orchestra of 50 musicians of various nationalities, performing an hour of music that blends diverse musical styles such as Spanish flamenco, rock music, and Arabic oriental music, along with Indian, Uzbek, Azerbaijani, and Turkish styles. The second and third days of the forum will also feature solo and group performances. Three prominent oud makers from the Arab world, Turkey, and Iran will also be hosted to showcase their skills and exchange experiences with participants.
His Excellency Ali Obaid Al Hefaiti, General Manager of the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, said that the forum reflects the academy’s commitment to promoting cultural dialogue between peoples through music. Al Hefeiti added that the event aims to highlight the oud as a symbol of cultural diversity and a bridge of communication between civilizations, enhancing the artistic presence of the Emirate of Fujairah on the international stage.
The Fujairah International Oud Forum is a unique platform that combines playing, craftsmanship, and cultural exchange, contributing to enriching the local and international art scene.
