As Filipinos prepare for the Holy Week rush, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. chose to be where it matters most—on the ground.

On April 1, Chief PNP Nartatez personally visited transport terminals, churches, and other key areas across Metro Manila to check if security preparations were truly in place. Instead of relying only on reports, he saw the situation firsthand, making sure police officers were visible, assistance desks were ready, and response teams were prepared for the expected influx of travelers and devotees.

He was joined by senior police officials, including PMGEN Anthony A. Aberin, PBGEN Rogelio I. Peñones Jr.; PBGEN Arnold E. Abad; PBGEN Randy Glenn Silvio; and PBGEN Randulf T. Tuaño. Together, they checked deployments, assessed security measures, and coordinated with local authorities to ensure everything runs smoothly during the busy period.

The message is simple but important: leadership is not just about giving orders—it’s about showing up. By being present in the field, PNP Chief Nartatez sends a clear signal that public safety is a priority and that the police force is ready to respond when needed.

With more people traveling and gathering during Holy Week, this kind of active leadership helps build confidence that safety measures are not just planned, but actually carried out.

Under the banner of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” the effort reflects a more visible and responsive approach—one that the public can see, feel, and rely on during one of the country’s busiest seasons.
