Senator Sonny Angara, who gratefully and immediately accepted the position, was appointed by P-BBM as the new Education Secretary. Angara expressed that he accepted the role with humility and a profound sense of duty, stating, “We will create a brighter future for our nation through education.” He also thanked his endorsers, PBEd (Philippine Business for Education), COCOPEA (Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations), and PACU (Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities). Angara seems well-suited for the position, being an honor graduate from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1991-1994), having studied law at UP Diliman (1995-2000), and earning a Master of Law at Harvard University Law School (2002-2003). Congratulations!

To prevent damage from water dousing during the celebration of the Wattah Wattah Festival in honor of Saint John The Evangelist, next year Mayor Francis Zamora will restrict the activity to a designated zone along N. Domingo and P. Guevarra streets. Water dousing outside this zone will not be allowed. The practice of opening passing cars and dousing drivers with water will also be prohibited to avoid unwanted confrontations. A festival devotee commented, “What kind of law is that?!”
