Malacañang has assured stricter conditions for fund release to assure speedy, efficient disbursement of the national budget in accordance with constitutional provisions that uphold good governance principles and that are nonpartisan.
Bersamin, the Executive Secretary, emphasized that the allocations will be transparent and under existing laws with good governance principles.
He added that the government recognizes that taxpayers bear the burden of funding the national budget, and it is only right that their sacrifices are reflected in its implementation.
He stressed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. exercised his veto on the largest appropriations in history, unprecedented for any sitting president. Following an exhaustive review, Marcos ordered reallocation, offering billions of pesos to be redirected toward projects and programs that will directly benefit the public.
