PLDT Inc. enhances its telecommunications infrastructure protection program through improved partnerships with industry partners, local peers and law enforcement to fight against equipment theft, causing disruptions to subscribers.
PLDT said they joined the National Telecommunications Security Council (NTSC) meeting of 2026, where security leaders from major telecom companies gathered to align strategies against persistent threats such as cable theft, vandalism, and network outages.
“Collaboration is one of our strongest defenses. By strengthening our planning frameworks and standardizing how we track issues across telcos, we help accelerate response, reduce operational friction and increase collective readiness,” said Col. Wilfredo F. Gonio (Ret), head of the Security Central Command and Administration Center at PLDT.
The company is also leading a multi-telecom project that will improve emergency response times while enhancing crisis management capabilities.
The total value of recovered assets during the second half of 2025 reached P18 million. The result of the efforts of field teams, law enforcement and residents working together to maintain uninterrupted telecom services for subscribers.
