Singer-songwriter Rico Blanco is mourning the passing of his younger brother, Rey Blanco, 50 years old.
The sad news was confirmed by Rey’s daughter, Daniela, and Rivermaya’s drummer, Mark Escueta. They posted on social media art cards with details of the wake, which will be a private gathering with family and close friends.
Mark Escueta gave a very touching message to Rey, giving his condolences and farewell.
Earlier this year, Rico Blanco made a public appeal for prayers for his brother, stating that Rey had a diagnosis of advanced and aggressive squamous cell carcinoma, a skin cancer.
Rico Blanco has since been consoled by friends, family, and fans.
