STA. CRUZ, Laguna — A regional trial court in Sta. Cruz, Laguna has ordered the arrest of businessman Atong Ang and 17 other individuals after finding probable cause to charge them with kidnapping with homicide, a crime classified as non-bailable under Philippine law.
Court records indicate that the warrants were issued in relation to the high-profile case involving the disappearance and subsequent death of a victim linked to the so-called “missing sabungeros” incidents. Prosecutors alleged that the victim was forcibly taken and later killed, prompting the filing of the more serious offense.
Following the issuance of the warrants, law enforcement agencies were directed to immediately locate and apprehend the accused. Authorities have not released operational details, citing security and procedural concerns.
As of posting time, Ang and the other named respondents have yet to issue public statements regarding the court’s ruling. All accused remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
