Actress and comedienne, Rufa Mae Quinto, posted bail of ₱1.7 million in the Pasay Regional Trial Court on January 9. She surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), facing accusations and charges including some 14 counts of violations of the Securities Regulation Code, with bail set at ₱126,000 for each count.
Quinto jokingly said “Ako po ay isang komedyante. Hindi po ako negosyante. Kaya kahit kailan hindi po ako nagnene-go-go-go-syo,” later on, she became emotional saying she’s nervous and sad at the same time and said “naniniwala po ako na ang katotohanan ay magpi-prevail.”
Quinto was happy and even opened the NBI door’s car to personally thank them.
While the hearing for the bail hearing was in process, the arraignment of actress Neri Naig was held at the same office.
She walked out quietly, providing only a reserved smile and avoiding media to leave with a member of the security staff.
