Senator Christopher “Bong” Go provided emergency aid following the disaster caused by Typhoon Kristine.
On October 31, the Malasakit team of Go responded in coordination with Vice Mayor Chezka Robles to provide essential supplies, including fans, shirts and food packages, to 250 disaster victims. The assistance reflects Senator Go’s commitment to supporting communities affected by natural disasters and highlights the Philippines’ vulnerability to severe weather and the need to prepare swiftly.
Sen. Go spoke about the impact of recurring typhoons and other natural disasters on Filipino communities and has long advocated for greater disaster relief measures in the region. Building on these efforts, he continued to push Senate Bill 188, the Department of Disaster Resilience (DDR) Act. DDR’s proposal aims to create a special organization focused on rebuilding vulnerable communities across the country.
In addition to the DDR Act, Go also supported Senate Bill No. 2451, the Ligtas Pinoy Center Act, which is currently being debated for the third time in the Senate. The Ligtas Pinoy Centers have embarked on a mission to establish permanent evacuation shelters all over the country to provide stable housing and basic services during emergencies.
Senator Go also introduced Senate Bill 192, which introduced the Bill’s rental housing assistance. The measure aims to provide better access to the housing market for victims of government rental subsidies when they need it and to support them in accessing healthcare services.
Senator Ng addressed flood victims in Buran, assuring them of his firm commitment to the affected communities and strengthening the country’s disaster and response policies. “I am committed to working tirelessly to support those affected by Typhoon Christine and to advocate for improved disaster preparedness to protect and empower communities in the Philippines,” Go said.
The programs in Bulan are a testament to Senator Go’s continued commitment to disaster prevention and strengthening the protection of all Filipinos.
