Manila: The Philippine delegation has mounted an inspiring campaign at the Bahrain Asian Youth Games 2025, firmly establishing itself among the region’s elite youth sporting nations. As of the latest standings, Team Philippines proudly holds the 9th position on the overall medal table, celebrating a significant achievement.
The nation’s rising stars have collectively secured a total of 21 medals: 6 Gold, 7 Silver, and 8 Bronze.
The success of the Philippine contingent has been fueled by outstanding performances in several key sports:
- Weightlifting: Zamboanga City pride Jhodie Peralta delivered a standout performance, bagging a silver in the snatch and a bronze in the clean and jerk for the girls’ 53kg division. Compatriot Princess Jay Ann Diaz also contributed a bronze in the girls’ 44kg clean and jerk event.
- Swimming: Rising sensation Jamesray Mishael Ajido claimed a silver medal in the Boys’ 100-meter butterfly, clocking a personal best time.
- Boxing: The country’s strong boxing tradition continued, with Leo Mhar Lobrido securing a silver medal in the boys’ 46kg class.
The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) continues to commend the young athletes for their dedication and for bringing pride to the nation. This strong showing at the Asian Youth Games is a major step toward building a successful team for future senior-level international competitions.
