Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This week, let’s focus on forgiveness. God forgives our mistakes, so we should forgive those who hurt us. We make mistakes and sin so this tells us as we are not perfect and God forgives us we need to forgive the others.
Let go of anger towards people who are unfair, treated you a certain way, showed jealousy were ruthless, or unkind. Forgive them and let God handle it. He knows what to do.
When you answer meanness with kindness, the Holy Spirit convicts them and it won’t allow them to feel true joy and peace, making them feel sorry. They will constantly feel convicted because of the bitterness in their heart. Your heart can change them. You are planting seeds of peace even if they don’t understand at the moment.
It’s normal to feel angry for a while. But remember, when people do bad things, it’s usually because God isn’t in their heart. Pray a simple prayer. Pray for them to find God, and pray for your own strength and comfort. God saw what happened, and He will take care of it.
Your job is to forgive, but that doesn’t mean you have to forget or put yourself in harm’s way.
As it says in Proverbs 22:3, “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” This means we should love and forgive, but also be wise and stay at a distance to be safe. The Lord wants us to be wise. It’s okay to love from a distance for your own peace.
A short prayer to ask the Lord to help you forgive and find comfort:
Dear Father God
You are the Holy of Holies.
I ask that you fill my heart and mind with forgiveness for (name the person) . I repent of my sins and I repent for feeling anger or vengeful towards them. Let them understand their mistake and may they ask for forgiveness from You mighty God and allow me to see a change in them.
I ask You to renew my mind and heart and see them with compassion. Pour comfort into my heart and fill those who wronged me with a new heart in Christ.
Thank you God almighty.
You God almighty can do all things!
I declare and decree that forgiveness comes forth this week not only for myself but for all those around me that have done injustice.
Amen and hallelujah!
