At only 18 years old, Sahararei “Bamboo” Bobadilla excels in the entertainment industry, balancing his showbiz career with his studies. He recently celebrated his birthday with a remarkable concert and dinner event at Ingel’s Resto Bar in CCP Bay Terminal on May 4th.
His friend, Star Magic artist Beaver Magtalas, attended the event, performing two songs and promoting their movie “When Magic Hurts” alongside Mutya Orquia, Maxine Trinidad, Claudine Barretto, Dennis Padilla, and Angelica Jones. The movie premieres on May 12, 2024, at SM Cabanatuan.
Bamboo delivered an electrifying performance on stage, accompanied by a lineup of talented special guests, including Froilan Canlas, Yesha Pardo, Joice Espinoza, LordKingpin Tan, Greg de Leon, and the Teen Ppop group, Div9.
The event was a resounding success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of various individuals. Talent scout/handler/manager John Rey Malto, manager Fria Gomez, and Director/Organizer Prince Berdera Biñas played pivotal roles in organizing the event. Lord Kingpin Tan hosted the event with flair, while photographer/videographer Ricky Fiesta and his team captured every memorable moment.
The creative direction was masterfully handled by Direk JM and his team, ensuring a seamless experience for the audience. Coordinator Nel Talavera (Ingels Resto Bar) contributed to the smooth flow of the event, while Rommel Malimban, as the Master Editor of ABS-CBN Prime Time, ensured the event’s highlights were captured and broadcasted to a wider audience.
The Genius Teen’s cast, along with their supportive parents, added to the event’s vibrancy and energy.
Bamboo expressed his heartfelt gratitude by sending a thank-you message to everyone who contributed to making the night special, including his mom Josie, supportive family, friends, Sean Guyamin and family and the Magtalas family, who traveled from Cabanatuan to Manila to be with him.
“Thank you po sa walang sawang suporta. Na-appreciate ko po lahat ng inyong effort. To mommy Josie, sobrang swerte ko bilang anak mo. Napaka-supportive mo. I love you. Thank you rin sa lahat ng tita ko na present always sa lahat ng achievements ko”
The concert was a triumph, and Bamboo hopes his fans left feeling both musically inspired and emotionally moved.
Bamboo is currently promoting four singles: ‘Puwede Kayang Maging Tayo,’ ‘Sagutin Mo Na Ako,’ composed by Vehnee Saturno, ‘Sabihin Ko Na Ba,’ featured in the film ‘Caught In The Act,’ and ‘Katuparan.’ All these songs are now available on all streaming platforms.
Collaborating with other talented singers for his concert was enriching for Bamboo. He explained, “Iba rin po kase yung styles at skills nila. They inspire me po na mag-explore pa ng new sounds and ideas.”
Balancing personal life, school, and his music career has been challenging for Bamboo, but he navigates it by setting clear goals, managing his time effectively, and surrounding himself with a supportive network.
Reflecting on the challenges he’s faced as a young artist in the music industry, Bamboo said, “Yung competition, rejection, at pressure po para makasabay sa trend, na-overcome ko yun by staying true to myself. Pinagbubuti ko na lang po ang craft ko.”
Looking ahead, Bamboo is excited to pursue new projects and goals in both his music and acting careers. Whether it’s releasing new music, exploring acting opportunities, or collaborating with other artists, he’s eager to continue evolving.
“Marami pa po akong gustong gawin. Gusto ko pong makatrabaho ang mga hinahangaan ko at alam kong marami pa akong matutunan sa kanila. Pero gusto ko rin gumawa ng sarili kong pangalan,” he said.
In his latest acting role, portraying the national hero Jose Rizal profoundly impacted Bamboo, teaching him about courage, intelligence, and patriotism.
“Sobrang nakakahanga po yung pamamaran niya sa pakikipaglaban para sa ating bayan. Mas na-appreciate ko ngayon why he is our National Hero,” Bamboo shared, expressing admiration for Rizal’s peaceful methods of fighting for his beliefs.
Bamboo’s journey as a recording artist and young actor is just starting, and with his talent and determination, a bright future awaits this rising star.
