Cye Soriano started his musical journey at the age of 5 in Palauig, Zambales. Facing challenges, like getting sick during a singing competition in 1995, Soriano remained dedicated to his passion for music.
Soriano started by singing at school in Pilar, Bataan, where a talent scout noticed him singing Michael Jackson’s songs. Now, he got an award at the Best Awards 2023. His journey has been full of determination and love for music.
Navigating a crossroads in his early teens when his father encouraged him to prioritize studies over performance, Soriano persisted, remaining active in school arts clubs, and eventually participating in ABS-CBN’s “The Voice Teens.”
Guided by voice teacher Anna Guillen Feleo, he found a renewed love for performance in 2020 through the indie film “Love Ain’t Enough” and the release of singles “I’m a Lady” and “Angel.”
The Best Awards 2023 recognition, a surprise for Soriano, serves as a testament to his dedication. He expresses gratitude for the support of Tita Ferdy Paggao, acknowledging the pivotal role such encouragement plays in his artistic journey.
Distinguishing his approach to music and film, Soriano emphasizes his commitment to breathe life into characters on the screen while using singing as a means to convey his personal experiences. As he aspires to produce songs to the legacy of Richard & Karen Carpenter, Soriano encourages aspiring artists to believe in themselves, echoing the sentiment of constant self-improvement championed by Madonna.
Soriano’s singles, “I’m a Lady” and “Angel,” bear unique emotional tones. “I’m a Lady,” featured in the film “Love Ain’t Enough,” exudes a mellow and bare feel complemented by a single guitar. On the other hand, “Angel,” a revival from Sarah McLachlan’s album, invites listeners to take a break and immerse themselves in Soriano’s soothing rendition while reflecting on life’s challenges.
Expressing his collaboration wishlist, Soriano names musical idols like Ryan Cayabyab, Rey Valera, Ogie Alcacid, Moira dela Torre and Lea Salonga, both locally and internationally. He dreams of collaborating with Richard Carpenter.
Previous engagements with Faith Cuneta, Angeline Quinto, Sarah Javier, Laverne Arceo, Ram Castillo and Ice Seguerra have enriched Soriano’s experiences, including touching moments with cancer patients during charity events.
Soriano’s lineup for 2024 goes beyond mere entertainment. It includes a series of opportunities to connect, contribute to causes, and collaborate with fellow artists. Mark your calendars for these upcoming performances:
January 27, 2024: Dinner for a Cause at Siena College of San Jose
April 6, 2024: Noel Cabangon + Ben & Ben at Siena College of San Jose Inc.
June 2023: Moira Dela Torre at SJDM Convention Center
Looking ahead, Cye is set to perform at Faces of Success on April 13, 2024, where he will be awarded “Live Singer Artist of the Year.”
Soriano has lots of exciting events and collaborations coming up. He’s ready for a big artistic journey and wants to leave a lasting impression through his music.
