MANILA, Philippines – Alex Eala could end a brilliant year in style by winning against another top-10 player.
Eala will be playing for the last time in 2025 as she battles world No. 9 Mirra Andreeva of Russia at the MGM Macau Tennis Masters at the Macao Forum on Sunday, December 28.
Andreeva, 18, is the fourth-highest-ranked player Eala will face this year, after the Filipina defeated world No. 2 Iga Swiatek at No. 7 Madison Keys then defeated No. 6 Jessica Pegula during her magical run at the Miami Open in March.
The Eala-Andreeva match is part of the team event at the Macau Masters, which features a showdown between the squads of Grand Slam champions Li Na and Conchita Martinez.
Eala is part of the team led by 2011 French Open and 2014 Australian Open champion Li, which also includes Ugo Humbert and Jerry Shang.
