Pru Life UK, the country’s leading life insurer, ushered in the Year of the Horse by presenting the Lucky Chinatown Chinese New Year 2026 Countdown Celebration, a cultural festivity held at the Lucky Chinatown in Manila.
Anchored on themes of togetherness, optimism, and protection, the celebration brought together families, partners, and the local community through a dynamic programme of traditional rituals, live performances, and symbolic countdown moments—reflecting Pru Life UK’s commitment to standing by Filipinos during life’s milestones.
The festivities opened on 16 February with a special countdown and the ceremonial ringing of the gong, a time-honoured tradition symbolising prosperity and good fortune. The evening came alive with musical performances, including crowd-drawing sets by Lola Amour and Dionela, adding a contemporary touch to the cultural celebration as anticipation built toward midnight.
Mallgoers also had the opportunity to capture PRUsperity at the Pru Life UK booth located at the Lucky Chinatown mall atrium. Visitors were invited to have their photos taken and a personalised Chinese name calligraphy bookmark, a meaningful keepsake symbolising good fortune and new beginnings for the year ahead.

The New Year was ushered in with a Grand Fireworks Musical display, signalling a hopeful and meaningful start.
Celebrations continued on 17 February with daytime activities open to families and shoppers. Highlights included a vibrant lion and dragon dance and an astrological forecast session led by feng shui master, Johnson Chua, offering insights for the year ahead. Live performances rounded out the programme, keeping the festive spirit alive throughout the day.
