The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is set to transport two images of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage to the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
This decision follows the Mass for Peace held on July 5 at the Antipolo Cathedral, during which the PCG Chaplaincy received the images as a gift from the shrine.
Chief Chaplain Reverend Father Louie A. Palines, Coast Guard Commodore, expressed gratitude to Rev. Fr. Reynante “Nante” Tolentino, Rector of Antipolo Cathedral and the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage.
Father Tolentino emphasized the importance of bringing the Blessed Virgin Mary closer to the uniformed personnel as part of the PCG chaplaincy’s mission. He also commended the PCG for its efforts to promote social peace through the veneration of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage.
The priest noted the timeliness of the PCG’s decision to hold the Mass for Peace and accept the Cathedral’s gift, especially considering the various conflicts and territorial disputes affecting the globe, including the Philippines.
Following the Mass, the PCG Chaplaincy paraded the images from Antipolo Cathedral to their chapel headquarters.
