Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is shocked and confused as to why he was arrested.
FPRRD questions what law he violated and what crime he violated that caused the Philippine National Police (PNP) to arrest him.
Duterte challenged in the interview the legality of his arrest and particularly why he was taken to Villamor Air Base upon his arrival from Hong Kong on the morning of March 11, Tuesday.
Senior Medialdea supported Duterte’s alertness on his claims, stating that the former president did not know about any charges against him. He was also unclear as to why Filipinos should adhere to an entity of which the Philippines is no longer a part.
Though he did not mention the ICC name-wise, it was clear that he was referring to this court.
Moreover, Medialdea went even further, questioning the arrest warrant against Duterte. Meanwhile, Duterte stated he would call the person responsible for his arrest as a witness when the trial commences.
