Malacañang Palace has denied rumors of an alleged coup attempt against the administration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr., said press officer and undersecretary Claire Castro.
The clarification came after photos circulated online showing police presence and razor wire around the Malacañang Palace complex.
Castro said that there is a real threat to the government, the president would not have traveled to Cebu City and would rather stay in the Malacañang palace instead.
She also emphasized that the country’s progress depends on concrete government actions rather than unverified claims spreading on social media.
Malacañang urged the public to avoid sharing unverified information and rumors.
