Groups from various sectors are planning for mass and protest actions against the alleged corruption involved in government flood control projects.
Tindig Pilipinas encourages the public to join the protest as a show of unity against projects they deem controversial and questionable.
The protest is scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., and will commence with a holy mass at the EDSA Shrine, also called the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, in Quezon City.
In addition to Tindig Pilipinas, other groups expected to join the event include various youth and student organizations, the alliance SIKLAB (Simbahan at Komunidad Laban sa Katiwalian) and other civic movements.
The organizers reiterated that the protest aims to raise public awareness against the alleged misuse of taxpayers’ money. The funds meant to address flooding problems should not be squandered through corruption.
