Pasig City–On October 20, 2022 the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) led by Dr. Rouel C. Aparato of the Medical Services Department, in partnership with the School Parent – Teacher Association (SPTA) headed by Ms. Maria Lourdes Maglatang conducted a medical mission at Pasig Science High School (PSHS) in Brgy. Maybunga, Pasig City.
A total of 168 patients composed of adults, children, babies, senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWD) received free health care services such as medical consultation with free medicines and electrocardiogram (ECG) procedure for patients with different heart conditions.
For the past 88 years, PCSO has been performing its mandate by providing health-related programs to Filipinos by offering free medical check-up and medicines for indigent and marginalized sectors across the country.
Ms. Menjie Eustaquio, 41 years old, an indigent from Pasig City together with her 7 year-old son were among the beneficiaries who lined up to get free medical consultation. She was also given free medicines for her daily maintenance and vitamins for her son. “Marami pong salamat sa libreng konsultasyon. Sa wakas mapapatingnan ko na ang aking sakit na goiter at maihihingi ko na ng libreng vitamins ang aking anak. Maraming salamat po sa PCSO dahil napakarami nyo pong natutulungan.”

Daniel V. Novelo, 73 years old, was also thankful to PCSO for checking his health condition despite his age. “Napakalaking tulong po nitong libreng check-up at libreng gamot lalo na sa kagaya kong senior citizen, kaya lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa PCSO. Mabuhay po kayo.”

Ms. Maglatang, SPTA President, the organizer of the event, was very happy and extremely thankful to PCSO for the success of the activity held in their school. “I would like to express my gratitude to PCSO for making this mission possible. Napakasaya ko po dahil napakaraming natulungan ng PCSO not only the PSHS Family but also our poor kababayan here in Pasig na nagtiyagang pumila. Now I am confident, ready na ang school namin para sa face to face classes. Maraming salamat and Happy 88th Anniversary PCSO.” (By: Jerwin Palo Nohay / Photos by: Arnold T. Ramos)
