Senator Raffy Tulfo urged airlines and security agencies to immediately discharge the ground-handling staff involved in the ₱500,000 jewellery theft at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The supposed victim, Kimberly Nakamura, said she lost her jewellery at NAIA Terminal 3 before boarding a flight to Singapore on June 28.
Authorities recovered the stolen items after analyzing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the terminal.
According to Tulfo, the person was identified and was brought to New NAIA Infra Corp., the Civil Aeronautics Board, and concerned airlines for appropriate action.
The senator has been in favor of tighter security measures and accountability at the country’s main airport, given the string of theft and extortion incidents allegedly involving airport staff.
