Sarah Discaya, a seasoned entrepreneur, is stepping into the political arena with a clear mission—to uplift Pasig City through bold reforms in healthcare, economic growth, and Smart City innovations.
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Discaya made the life-changing decision to settle in the Philippines for good when her family returned home. “Our parents wanted us to embrace Filipino culture. Among my siblings, I was the only one who stayed,” she shared.
Now a successful entrepreneur leading St. Gerrard Construction, she is determined to transform Pasig into a city where every family can thrive.
“Our story is one of rags to riches. We weren’t born wealthy—we started from scratch. My parents had a strong business mindset, and I inherited that. Kaya yung experiences ko, yung skills ko, yun ang maise-share ko sa mga taga-Pasig. Kung nagawa ko, magagawa din nila—given the right opportunity and knowledge,” Discaya said.
During a press event, she was joined by actress and advocate Ara Mina, a well-known champion of women’s rights, youth welfare, and marginalized communities. Their partnership, she said, represents a shared commitment to uplifting every Pasigueño.
“It’s a great honor to stand side by side with Ara in this fight. Our priority is the well-being of every Pasigueño family,” Discaya said. She emphasized that healthcare must be a right, not a privilege, vowing to build a fully equipped public hospital within two years.
“Kulang ang health care namin dito (sa Pasig). If ever manalo, ‘yun ang priority namin. Para hindi na nila kailangang magpa-MRI, ECG, o CT scan sa labas,” she declared.
Along with this, she envisions better medical facilities, including geriatric hospitals, maternity and pediatric services, mental health care, and specialized centers for children with special needs.
“Healthcare should heal, not bankrupt families. My priority is to ensure every Pasigueño receives quality care without financial burden,” Discaya asserted.
Beyond healthcare, Discaya is pushing for economic empowerment, particularly for women and persons with disabilities (PWDs). She aims to provide financial aid and business training for mothers, especially those who are single or abandoned. At the same time, she plans to expand job opportunities for PWDs by ensuring accessible workplaces, vocational training, and business funding.
“We will make sure these opportunities are accessible within Pasig so families can thrive without being forced apart,” she said.
She also envisions Pasig as a Smart City, harnessing technology to improve public services. Her plans include AI-powered emergency response, aerial firefighting capabilities, and a smart traffic system to reduce congestion. Connectivity and digital efficiency, she stressed, should be available to all residents, not just a privileged few.
As she hit the campaign trail, Discaya teamed up with Vice Mayor candidate Iyo Caruncho Bernardo and Congressional candidate Christian Sia, both of whom align with her progressive vision for Pasig. She also emphasized Ara Mina’s active role in championing women, youth, and PWD rights, making it clear that her leadership will be one of inclusivity and action.
“We share the same advocacy. The first time we met, we realized we had the same vision and mission. Kaya naman nag-click kami agad,” Discaya said.
With Kaya This! as her battle cry, Discaya rallies Pasigueños to embrace a leadership that delivers—not just promises—real change and long-term solutions.
“What we are offering is a government with a solid plan—not just for today, but for the years to come. With the right system and priorities, we can make it happen,” she declared.
