Manama: KIMSHEALTH, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Bahrain, successfully hosted its inaugural “Alaga Kapwa 2026: Caring for One Another – Filipino Community Health & Wellness Day” on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the KIMSHEALTH Hospital Auditorium in Umm Al Hassam.
Marking the first time this community event was held, the initiative brought essential healthcare services and government support together under one roof. His Excellency Gines Jaime Ricardo D. Gallaga, the Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, attended the event, joining the organizers and Philippine Embassy staff to show support for the local Filipino community.
Designed for both pre-registered attendees and walk-in visitors, the event drew over 400 participants, with 570 registered clients and more than 330 blood extractions completed during the morning. Attendees received free health screenings covering Creatinine, SGPT, SGOT, Total Cholesterol, Uric Acid, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), and Triglycerides.
Each registered participant was issued a KIMSHEALTH Alaga Kapwa Privilege Card, which entitles them to collect their lab results and receive a free follow-up doctor consultation at any of KIMSHEALTH’s four locations across Bahrain.
Alongside the medical teams, staff from the Philippine Embassy and its attached agencies provided on-site services, completing a total of 214 transactions. These included 68 MWO and OWWA services, 45 Virtual Pag-IBIG inquiries, 38 Overseas Voting registrations, 32 SSS transactions, 29 PhilHealth updates, and 2 consular assistance requests.
The event was supported by local partners Mega Mart and Pocari Sweat, which provided complimentary refreshments for attendees. The successful turnout reflects KIMSHEALTH’s ongoing efforts to make preventative healthcare and community services accessible to Bahrain’s expatriate population.
