In the touching film “Litrato,” directed by Louie Ignacio and written by Ralston Jover, Quinn Carrillo delivers a standout performance as Angel, a caring caregiver who forms a deep bond with an elderly woman battling Alzheimer’s.
The movie explores family relationships and the fear of being forgotten, offering emotional scenes that resonate with audiences. Quinn praises Ai Ai’s professionalism and ad-libbing skills, making the collaboration truly remarkable. She admits that she faced challenges that have sharpened her skills and required her to be quick on her feet to match Ai Ai’s spontaneity.

The PMPC Best New Movie Actress of the year felt more excitement than nerves during their shooting sessions, all thanks to Ai Ai’s supportive presence. Quinn expressed her gratitude for being the ‘apo’ of Lola Edna, played by Ai Ai, whose iconic roles have been an integral part of her life since her younger days in “Tanging Ina.”
At the end of the premiere night held in SM North, The Block last July 21, the moviegoers returned home in tears, especially the actors who portrayed their roles. Even though they had seen it before, the feeling on the big screen was still different. The film’s message was deeply felt, especially by senior citizens who have been neglected in homes for the aged and are no longer visited by their relatives. Quinn empathizes with the difficulties faced by those dealing with the condition.
Quinn stated, “I hope you enjoyed what you watched. I would also like to share that… I’m getting emotional again… I really dedicate this film to my late grandmother because she was the one who wanted me to become an actress since I was a child. Then, the offer from Direk Louie came at the right time, so I poured my heart into this film. Thank you very much, Direk, and of course, to my family, especially my mom, (Len) thank you very much.”
Quinn felt overwhelmed by the praise and considered it motivation to improve her craft.
The collaboration between director Louie and Ai Ai has been a recipe for success, as evidenced by their critically acclaimed films like “Area” and “School Service,” where Ai Ai earned the Best Actress award at Cinemalaya. Director Louie openly expressed his admiration for Ai Ai’s talent and credited her for being the reason behind the film’s creation. Ai Ai, in turn, expressed her genuine appreciation for Director Louie’s unwavering faith in her, which has resulted in their films’ multiple wins and positive outcomes.
