Kuwait City: The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) honoured Taha International for Industrial Services, headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the GCC Industrial Excellence Award 2025.
The recognition was announced during the Third Gulf Industrial Exhibition, organized by Kuwait’s Public Authority for Industry, and held on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at The St. Regis Hotel, Kuwait.
The award was received by Mr. Ammar Awachi, CEO of Taha International for Industrial Services, during a ceremony attended by GCC Ministers of Commerce and Industry, accompanying delegations, senior officials, and business leaders from across the region. The ceremony also featured opening remarks by H.E. Mr. Khalifa Al Ajeel – Minister of Commerce and Industry, and H.E. Mr. Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Mr. Awachi stated that this recognition marks the culmination of the company’s sustained efforts to advance sustainability and innovation within the industrial sector, and added, “This honour stands as a testament to Taha International’s ongoing commitment to applying the highest international standards in aluminium hot dross processing technology. It serves as a powerful motivation for us to continue developing environmentally responsible industrial technologies that drive the growth of Gulf economies and contribute to national development goals. Our initiatives align closely with the collective priorities of GCC states in promoting environmental stewardship and advancing circular economy strategies aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, thereby strengthening the overall value of industrial investments across the region.”
Mr. Awachi further underscored the importance of this event in strengthening GCC industrial collaboration, noting that regional initiatives such as the Third Gulf Industrial Exhibition, which included in-depth discussions on “Localising Industry in the GCC Towards Sustainable Industrial Security” and the launch of the “Gulf Industrial Platform”, play a vital role in aligning regional visions and coordinating joint efforts between the public and private sectors. Such forums provide invaluable opportunities for knowledge exchange, identifying manufacturing gaps, and reinforcing the region’s investment-friendly environment that promotes entrepreneurship and the localisation of high-value industries.
It is worth noting that Taha International Industrial Services utilises a patented technology developed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is globally unique in the aluminium hot dross processing technology. This innovation represents a pioneering application of the circular economy model and the concept of zero-waste industrial operations. The company’s technology has significantly strengthened its position as a provider of sustainable industrial solutions, earning this distinguished regional recognition that reaffirms its leadership across the GCC industrial landscape.
