Cristopher Diwata, who attracted online fame for his viral impersonation of Taylor Lautner on the It’s Showtime stage over a decade ago, is now a proud car owner.
That occasion coincided with a resurgence of popularity as Diwata has nabbed several brand endorsements and appearances due to the revival of his 2013 performance on It’s Showtime’s “Kalokalike Face 2: Level Up,” which recently hooked the public eye.
The good news was reported on TikTok by his wife, Ronalyn Diwata, who seems to have uploaded photos of their family “Thank you sa mga sumuporta sa asawa ko mula noon until now,” Ronalyn said.
Now, busier than ever, Diwata embraces the new era in his career. In an interview with ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, he reflected on the unexpected revival with, “Sabi nga natin bilog ang mundo, at iikot at iikot din yan. Malay natin sa susunod kayo naman ang nasa itaas.”
Even Taylor Lautner has heard of him. When a fan chided the actor on TikTok for ignoring the viral craze, Lautner shot back with, “Yup, but it’s not [your] fault, it’s mine,” thus giving credence to his awareness concerning the phenomena generated by his impersonator.
