Senator Christopher “Bong” Go attended the inauguration and blessing of Iba’s new municipal hall on Friday, July 5, marking a significant milestone in the town’s infrastructure development.
As Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Go played a crucial role in securing funding for the project and underscoring its importance to the local community.
During the event, Senator Go reiterated his unwavering commitment to Iba and the entire province of Zambales. He emphasized the critical role that infrastructure projects play in fostering regional development.
Go’s dedication to promoting Zambales is evident through his support for various infrastructure initiatives, including road repairs, market construction, seawall construction, and the installation of solar-powered street lighting, among others.
In recognition of his outstanding public service and legislative contributions, Iba formally named Go as its adopted son in 2022. This honor, bestowed through Resolution No. 25 on June 23, 2022, highlighted Go’s effective and efficient service, particularly in empowering local government units and distributing resources to strengthen LGUs.
The resolution commended Go for several successful projects in Iba, such as the construction of Phases I and II of the GO IBA Municipal Building, educational assistance for the youth, and financial support for tricycle operators, drivers, market vendors, barbers, farmers, and fishermen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
