Greenleaf argues that it would have been impossible for the apostles to persist in affirming the truths they had narrated if Jesus had not truly risen from the dead since they were as certain of this fact as any other fact. Based on the legal evidence laws applied in courts of justice, Greenleaf concludes that the resurrection of Christ is one of the most firmly supported events in history.
