The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has provided alternative livelihoods for more than 35,000 workers affected by El Nino.
During the pre-Labor Day news briefing, DOLE Undersecretary Benjo Benavidez said the impacted people working under Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) programwere from the Regions I, III, IV-A, VI, IX and X.
Benavidez said that they allotted P163M fund salary for the affected workers.
Task Force El Nino said that at least 100 cities and towns in the Philippines were affected by the El Nin o phenomenon.
