The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced on Sunday that an autopsy conducted on the remains of beauty pageant contestant Geneva Lopez and her Israeli boyfriend Yitshak Cohen revealed that both sustained two gunshot wounds each.
According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, Lopez was shot in the back and thigh, while Cohen was shot in the chest and near his armpit. Santiago explained during an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, “Okay, nag-conduct na kami ng autopsy, ang NBI ay nag-conduct na ng autopsy at may resulta na,” confirming the findings of the examination.

“Ang lalaki naman ay may tama ng bala sa dibdib, harapan ang entrance, tumagos sa likod atsaka sa bandang kili-kili,” he added, indicating the trajectory of the bullets in Cohen’s body.
The primary investigation is being handled by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), with the NBI providing forensic support. Santiago mentioned that there is a 99% likelihood that the bodies discovered are those of Lopez and Cohen.
The bodies were found on Saturday morning in a vacant area at a quarry site in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac. The NBI director confirmed on the same day that the bodies were identified as Lopez and Cohen. Relatives of the victims later confirmed their identities.
