There is perhaps no one more courageous than Kaye Abad for openly admitting her battle with breast cancer.
She even chose to reveal it on her birthday, May 17.
Instead of celebrating with pure happiness, Kaye became emotional as she shared her painful journey during her birthday confession.
In her vlog, Kaye revealed that her secret battle with cancer began in January 2025.
She discovered the illness after her doctor advised her to undergo a mammogram.
The recommendation was made because of her age, as well as the surgery she previously underwent to remove gallbladder stones during the latter part of 2024.
Kaye admitted that she became deeply depressed after learning that she might have breast cancer.
She shared, “While the doctor was talking, I couldn’t seem to absorb what she was saying.”
Kaye immediately called her husband, Paul Jake Castillo, who was in Surigao at the time.
Kaye recalled, “That’s when I truly understood what the doctor had told me.”
Despite everything, Kaye remained hopeful that the cancer had been detected at an early stage, while holding firmly to her faith.
“I know I’ll be okay… God is good! ” she said.
The couple later decided to go to Singapore to seek treatment.
Kaye admitted that it was especially painful to say goodbye to her children without knowing when she would finally be cancer-free.
She also learned to endure the difficult side effects of her treatment.
The positive news is that after a year of treatment, Kaye was finally declared cancer-free.
