Despite her outstanding performance in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League, leading Petro Gazz to victory and earning the MVP and Best Outside Spiker awards, Brooke Van Sickle remains grounded and unaffected by the spotlight.
At the PVL Media Day held at the TV5 Media Center, the 24-year-old outside hitter radiated confidence and poise. She emphasized her dedication to consistency, focusing on her game rather than succumbing to the pressure of accolades.
“Awards are cool and all, but my goal as a player is just to be consistent. I want to be able to support my teammates, be there for them, and just be that consistent player. I’m excited about the PVL; I’m not stressed at all,” she declared.
Immersed in her game and undeterred by external distractions, Van Sickle directs her focus towards being a dependable asset in Petro Gazz’s quest for their first title since the 2022 Reinforced Conference. For her, the journey entails embracing a role that goes beyond individual achievements.
“I want to be there for my teammates. They have my back; I want to be able to have their backs and the chemistry that we’re already building and the relationships that we’re building,” she emphasized.
Hailing from Hawaii, Van Sickle treasures teamwork and recognizes the importance of collective effort over individual prowess.
“I just want to be as consistent as possible. I want to be there for my teammates and the chemistry that we’re already building and the relationships that we’re building,” she said.
