According to Kapamilya stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla this Thursday, their eleven-year relationship has ended.
Kathryn shared this in an Instagram post, where it can be seen in an old photo of her and Daniel.
“The chapter is closed. I hope this will finally help us all move forward,” he wrote, adding that this was the only time he would speak on the issue.
In her statement in this post along with photos of her and Daniel, where she looks back on her offscreen and onscreen relationship with Daniel.
“I have been in showbiz for almost 21 years, 12 years as the one-half of Kathniel, and 11 years as someone who loved Deej even behind the camera. I did not grow up in this industry that is constantly controlled and dictated. I am lucky to have of the best guidance and support system when I started my career and I continue to work hard to earn people’s trust,” he wrote.
“But since I’ve become an adult, I’ve taken it upon myself to take charge of my own life — the projects I do, the way I dress, the people I surround myself with. I always try to be My own person. I was encouraged to think for myself and decide for myself. Even when it comes to love. Especially when it comes to love,” she added.
He wanted the news about the rumors and speculation this past week to come from him himself.
“I promised to never lose myself in this industry, so I’ve always been as authentic to you as I can be. I know what many of you are thinking right now. I know the rumors and speculations going on, and as hard as it is to put everything into words, I want you to hear it straight from me: It’s true that Deej and I decided to go our separate ways,” Bernardo said.
According to Kathryn, her relationship with Deej is real, and she wouldn’t trade the years they spent together.
“He was my first boyfriend. He was my comfort, I will always love him.
He is very grateful to Deej, who he says has given him eleven wonderful years.
Kathryn also thanked their fans for their support, and begged them not to take sides.
“Deej, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of love that I will forever cherish. I will always be grateful for you,” Kathryn concluded.
“Kathniels, we know you are hurt, and trust me, this also hurts us both more than you can imagine. The last thing we want is for this family to break apart with everyone taking sides — please don’t,” she said.
According to Daniel, he also expressed his attitude and gratitude to their supporters and fans for fellow Bernardos.
“In the world, life and the limited time we have here. Love is a great blessing. You are loved. And you love,” he wrote on Instagram.
