The Migrant Workers Offices (MWO) in Osaka and Tokyo in Japan are in contact with employers and companies employing Filipinos in Ehime and Kochi prefectures after a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck yesterday.
Despite that, no reported Filipino workers were injured or killed during the earthquake based on the MWO data and to ensure the condition of Filipinos who live and work in Japan.
Although the earthquake caused no damage, eight people were hurt.
According to data from the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake’s epicentre was located in the Bungo Suido channel south of Osaka.
The organization confirmed that no tsunami was recorded as a result of the earthquake.
