President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the distribution of relief to farmers, fishermen, and families in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, yesterday.
The President and cabinet members, including Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Banjamin Abalos Jr. and Agriculture Secretary Francis Tiu Laurel, distributed ten thousand pesos each to affected farmers, fishermen, and their families.
In his speech, the President wished to personally check the province’s development and changes.
PBBM said that his purpose in going around the different towns and provinces in the country, “is to personally see if the government’s assistance is being received by the people and if it is [helping] the needs of those who are struggling” due to drought. And he would like to talk to the people to understand their situation and to find a solution to their problems.
He also assured that his administration will continue to promote development projects such as road projects such as the Improving Growth Corridors in Mindanao Road Sector Project that was inaugurated last year.
The President is joined by representatives from different government agencies, including the Department of Trade and Industry, the DOLE, the TESDA, and the DA, for the Bagong Pilipinas Service Fair, which takes place outside the DEPED gymnasium in barrio Tubig-Mampallam.
