Far Eastern University standouts Max Juangco and Kiesha Bedonia have chosen the professional path, inking deals with Akari and PLDT, respectively, for the upcoming 2024 Premier Volleyball League season.
Juangco is set to step into the role vacated by libero Justine Jazareno, who recently went on maternity leave from the Chargers.
The promising defensive player recently played for Akari in the Akari Cup, securing a runner-up finish after falling to Adamson University in the championship match.
“Bravely charging into the pros is the talented libero from Far Eastern University, Maxine Juangco,” the team announced.
“Her MAXimum effort on the defensive end will elevate the Akari Chargers to another level this season. Welcome to Chargers ground, Max.”
The High-Speed Hitters are also expected to bolster their scoring lineup with Bedonia’s addition, especially with Kianna Dy facing a period of absence due to a knee injury.
Bedonia, despite not playing for the Lady Tamaraws in the UAAP, gained recognition for her outstanding performance in the V-League Collegiate Challenge, where she earned the title of Best Outside Spiker.
