Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya on Thursday presented his credentials to President Ferdinand Marcos, marking his term of office.
Endo presented his Letters of Credence to Marcos as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Philippines at Malacañang Palace.
During the ceremony, he expressed his enthusiasm to further deepen the strategic partnership through steady progress of cooperation in a wide range of areas such as security, economy, and people-to-people exchanges.
For his part, President Marcos Jr. extended a warm welcome to Endo and described the Japan and Philippines ties as “strongest than ever.”
He also expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries will be elevated to greater heights with close cooperation under the leadership of Endo.
Following the ceremony, Endo made his way to Rizal Park, where he participated in a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippines’ national hero.
Endo, who arrived in the country last month, replaced Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko.
Koshikawa ended his tour of duty as Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines on March 5.
