The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) spokesperson Teresita Daza said in a message to GMA News online that PH has filed diplomatic protest VS China after the Beijing air force incident.
Daza, did not diclose more details of the protest.
The said incident happened on August 8 when the Armed Forces of the Philipipnes (AFP) said that two People’s Liberation Army Air Force aircraft performed a “dangerous and provocative actions towards PAF over the Scarborough Shoal.
When an NC-212i PAF propeller aircraft was performing a routine maritime patrol over the area, the Chinese aircraft made a dangerous maneuver and dropped flares in its route.
The Philippine aircraft disrupted training activities, according to PLA’s Southern Theatre Command, “despite repeated warnings from China, insisted on illegally intruding into the airspace of Huangyan Island.”
The action was later condemned by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who called it “unjustified, illegal, and reckless.”
