Seattle-based Filipino R&B artist Jojo Santor is making his Christmas vacation in the Philippines one to remember. Taking a break from his busy life as a software engineer in Seattle, Jojo recently graced the iconic Wish Bus of Wish 107.5, parked at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
Jojo performed two of his heartfelt tracks, Tahan Na and Ganyan Lang. The former is a poignant anthem about moving forward after heartbreak, while the latter, inspired by the pandemic, is a song of hope and resilience in the face of challenges.
This wasn’t Jojo’s first time on the Wish Bus—but it was his first performance on its Philippine counterpart. He previously sang aboard the Wish Bus USA back in Seattle. Reflecting on the experience, Jojo admitted, “Nakakaba pa rin talaga pag nakasalang ka na dun. Hindi mawawala yon. It was an amazing experience and wish come true.”
Jojo was recently awarded Male R&B Artist of the Year at the prestigious 16th PMPC Star Awards for Music for his song, Hanggang Dito Na Lang. The recognition cements his place as one of the most talented Filipino artists in the R&B scene.
Despite his success in music, Jojo juggles his artistic pursuits with a demanding career in software engineering. He admitted that his busy schedule has delayed the completion of several songs. “Definitely, paglalaanan ko yan ng time. It’s been a while since nakagawa ako ng kanta dahil sobrang busy lang talaga sa work,” Jojo shared.
For now, fans can savor his stunning performances and heartfelt lyrics, as Jojo continues to prove that passion and dedication can harmoniously blend with life’s other pursuits. With his unmistakable talent and heartwarming connection to his roots, Jojo Santor is a holiday gift to Filipino music lovers.
