Authorities have discovered the suspected decomposed bodies of Geneva Lopez, a beauty queen, and her Israeli fiancé, Yitzhak Cohen, at a remote quarry site in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac Saturday morning. The couple had been missing for two weeks.
The discovery was made by Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) following crucial information provided by a witness.
The couple was last seen on June 21, driving an SUV toward Tarlac for a land transaction. The vehicle was found torched and abandoned in Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas, on June 22. Police Lt. Col. Librado Manarang Jr. has stated the family of Lopez and Cohen has the identities of the deceased.
The Authorities will run further investigations, including DNA testing and cause of death examinations, will be conducted.
The reward for credible information leading to the location of Lopez and Cohen had reached PHP1.4 million, contributed by various officials and Cohen’s family.
Seven persons of interest, including the property middleman, have been identified by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
