Regrettably, six courageous soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice, and an additional four suffered injuries in the line of duty. The wounded soldiers have already been evacuated to Camp Evangelista Station Hospital.
Brawner expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, ensuring them of the AFP’s steadfast support during this challenging period.
He emphasized the commitment to providing the wounded soldiers with the best available treatment for their injuries.
“As the CSAFP, I assure their families and every Filipino that justice will be meted, and all efforts will be exhausted in pursuit of the enemy. Our troops are motivated to finish the job and accomplish our mission of defeating local terrorist groups once and for all,” he said.
Four civilians and 50 other individuals were injured in the bombing incident at the gymnasium inside the university.
