Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said on Friday that the reshuffling of the Cabinet will follow the directive issued by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for top officials to submit courtesy resignations.
Among the major changes, the new secretary, Raphael Lotilla, will be replacing Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo Loyzaga in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Meanwhile, former congresswoman Sharon Garin will take up an acting position in filling that gap in the DOE.
Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Acuzar will be the Presidential Adviser for Pasig River Development.
Undersecretary Tess Lazaro of the Department of Foreign Affairs has been selected to lead the agency, as Secretary Enrique Manalo will be reshuffled to become the country’s representative in the United Nations.
As for Bersamin, Lazaro’s appointment will take place on July 31.
