BIC, Sakhir: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, represented by the Circuit Racing Commission of Bahrain (CRC), is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new touring car race series. This series is set to be an evolution of the highly successful 2,000CC Challenge, which has been a cornerstone of local racing in Bahrain for 16 seasons.
The new touring car series regulations have been designed to offer more flexibility in car choice, encouraging broader participation at all levels. This means that drivers, both novices and those with racing experience, will have the opportunity to compete in the championship. Additionally, these regulations aim to reduce driver costs, making it more accessible for individuals who wish to participate.

Preliminary registration of interest for the upcoming 2024/5 season is now open for drivers. All racers who are interested in being a part of this thrilling championship are invited to submit their expressions of interest by filling out a simple online form available at Baharingp.com.
To prepare for the new championship season, BIC and CRC will be hosting a series of open days, workshops, and seminars. These events are specifically designed to provide valuable information and support to both novice and experienced racers. Participants will gain insights into the new series rules, receive assistance with sourcing and developing cars, and learn about securing sponsorship and financial support.
During the open days, drivers will have the opportunity to test out the cars that can be used in the new championship at BIC’s track over the coming weeks. Local experts will also be available to provide guidance and support across all areas relevant to those who are taking their first steps into racing.
The primary goal of the new championship is to encourage broader participation in local racing and lower the financial barriers to entry. By providing support and education to novice racers, the series aims to create a nurturing environment for individuals to gain their first experience in track racing.
